Getting to Our Camp

Travel to Canada:

To travel to Canada, you will need a valid passport. Gander River Outfitters is easily accessible by plane or car. 

Flying to Newfoundland:

We recommend that you fly into Gander International Airport sometime on Saturday. This may require hotel reservations for Saturday night. Sunday morning, we will transport you from your hotel to the boat launch site in Gander Bay South (Approximately 30-minute drive) once at the lodge and settled in, your hunt will begin Sunday and end Friday evening. We will transport you, your group and other hunters back to Gander early Saturday morning to catch your plane. Please plan accordingly for your return flight.

Please note that you are responsible for all arrangements and costs for your travel and hotels.

Driving to Newfoundland:

If you are driving to Newfoundland, you will need to stay on the TransCanada Highway (THC) all the way to North Sydney, Nova Scotia, where you will catch the Marine Atlantic Ferry for the six-hour one-way trip to Port Aux Basque, Newfoundland. The vehicle-carrying ferry is impressive in size and features, including on-board dining and sleeping cabins and is part of the TCH system. You should make round trip reservations for the ferry at least two months in advance of your intended travel date.
